The same coast you know by day, transformed by the dark.

In winter the sun sets before six, which means a true night sail at a comfortable hour — out on the water by early evening, back in time for dinner.

We slip out of the marina as the coast lights up: the town, the citadel, the lighthouse blinking out to sea, and the glow of Lisbon far to the east. Out on the black water the city becomes a line of light along the shore. We sail the bay in the quiet, then turn for home with the whole of Cascais lit up ahead of us.

There are blankets and warm gear on board, and something warm to drink in your hands. It is calm, it is close, and almost nobody else is out there.

This one belongs to winter. From November to mid-March only.

Frequently asked questions

What time do we sail?
Departures are in the early evening, timed to the winter sunset — usually around 6.30 p.m. We confirm the exact time with you when you book.

Will it be cold?
It can be cool on the water after dark, which is why we carry blankets, foul-weather gear and warm drinks. Bring a windproof jacket and you will be comfortable.

Do I need any sailing experience?
None. Your skipper handles the boat. You are a guest — settle in and enjoy the coast at night.

Is the boat private?
Always. The evening is booked exclusively for your group. There are no shared departures.

Why is this only offered in winter?
Because the sun sets early enough for a genuine night sail at a sociable hour. In summer, darkness comes too late for the same experience.

What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
Safety comes first. If conditions do not allow us to sail, we reschedule at no cost and will be in touch in good time.
